The checked game has 64 base moves and 59 evolution recipes. To evolve a move, reach its maximum level, take its required stat card during that run, then choose the golden evolution card. An evolution changes that move’s behavior and strength; it is not a Pokémon species evolution.
Evidence scope: The 59 recipes and their requirements are checked against the game’s source snapshot. I did not complete a golden move evolution in the five short hands-on runs, so this is a source-verified reference table, not 59 individually reproduced tests.
The three requirements
- Raise an eligible base move to level 5.
- Take the matching stat upgrade in the same run. You may take the stat before or after reaching the move’s maximum level.
- At a later level-up offer, choose the golden evolution card. Meeting the requirements does not automatically select it for you.
The code records run cards in a separate counter. A permanent menu upgrade does not set that counter, even when its name resembles the required card. When an evolution is ready, the level-up logic reserves an offer for an eligible evolution; if several are ready, you still choose from the current offer.

Moves that do not evolve
Swords Dance, Agility, Harden, Aqua Ring, Dragon Dance have no evolution recipe in this snapshot. These are buff moves; do not spend a run waiting for a golden card that the data does not define.
Evolution or bond?
An evolution improves one move. A bond links moves so they can fire together from one active slot. Defeating a legendary in a rift grants a bond opportunity, and a linked group can reach four moves. Combining moves frees slots, so the total learned moves can exceed the four visible slot groups. That does not turn every unselected slot into an automatic attack.
Troubleshooting a missing evolution
Check the exact base move, its level, the run card requirement and whether it has already evolved. Bubble and Water Gun have different requirements. A newly unlocked move starts its own upgrade path; unlocking a partner or buying upgrades in the main menu does not skip it.
For a first attempt, choose one starter recipe and build around it. Our starter table shows each opening move; the rift guide explains how to reach bond opportunities.
