Hub Edition is the version you can play on this site. We built on JPTER78’s PokéSurvivor to make it easier to start, try another partner and finish a satisfying short adventure. It is free, single-player and account-free, with progress stored in your browser.

The core loop remains: move through the horde, collect experience, improve your moves and build a collection. Our additions give that loop a clearer first journey, short modes with a finish line, and upgrades that support your whole team.

Start playing sooner

The first screen offers Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle directly. See all starters opens the full selection of 29. The personality quiz is still available if you enjoy it, and can be skipped.

There is no account registration. After choosing, open Play and select an expedition, a weekly trial or Survival. The starter guide compares starting moves and base stats.

A gentler opening

Expeditions use a gentler first 90 seconds. Survival also gets opening assistance while your best Survival time is below three minutes. That assistance reduces early pressure and simplifies the opening enemy mix; cancelling a menu or rotating your phone does not use up a limited number of beginner attempts.

While you work toward your first recorded move evolution, recommended cards help you upgrade an eligible move, take its required run stat and find the gold evolution choice. You still steer, collect experience and choose your cards. This is guidance, not an automatic win.

Eight-minute expeditions

An expedition lasts up to eight minutes. The final boss appears at 7:00. Defeat it to win immediately; if it is still alive at 8:00, the attempt ends in a timeout. Being defeated can end the run earlier.

Winning adds 100 coins and one single-pull ticket to the run’s other rewards. You can make progress in ordinary missions and the beginner journey along the way.

Owned-partner expeditions, weekly trials and event trials all use a fixed upgrade preset. Your purchased upgrade levels are reserved for Survival. Expedition records are tracked separately, so a trial does not replace your Survival best time or level.

Read the expedition strategy guide for the opening, build phase and final minute.

Shared upgrades

Purchased upgrades now support every partner in Survival. Buy Vitality, switch partners and keep the purchased HP bonus. All 13 tracks use shared purchased levels; starting-move bindings and individual banned-move choices stay specific to each partner.

Older Hub saves are upgraded automatically. For each track, we keep the highest previously purchased level. Spending duplicated across partners is refunded at the original level costs. Collection, shinies, code redemption and existing Survival records carry over.

For example, if one partner had Vitality level 2 and another had level 1, the result is shared level 2 plus a refund of the duplicated level-1 cost: 60 coins. It is not level 3, and opening the game again does not refund it a second time.

The shared upgrade guide covers costs, priorities and the difference between menu purchases and run cards.

Free trials and themed events

Weekly themes offer three free trial partners, themed weather and a final boss. You can try them even if they are missing from your collection. A trial leaves your saved active partner unchanged and does not grant permanent ownership.

The four-theme cycle is Ghost Survey, Rainy Expedition, Sunlit Expedition and Garden Expedition. Weekly rotation occurs on Monday at 00:00 UTC.

Dated events add six objectives and rewards at two, four and six completed objectives. You choose the order; there is no daily login streak. Milestone resources are awarded automatically, while a permanent partner reward needs your selection in Activities & journey.

The first configured event, Ghost Survey, runs from October 14, 2026 at 00:00 UTC until October 28 at 00:00 UTC. Its free partners are Gastly, Misdreavus and Duskull, with Gengar as the final boss. The game shows whether an event is upcoming, live or ended.

See the activity and reward guide for the exact objectives, qualifying-run rules, rewards and closing grace period.

A beginner journey that stays

Six permanent goals guide you through moving, reaching level 3, finishing two runs, buying a shared upgrade, evolving a move and trying two different partners in qualifying runs. They award coins and tickets automatically.

Complete all six to choose an unowned permanent partner from Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Pikachu, Eevee and Gastly. If you own the entire reward pool, the choice becomes 300 coins. This journey does not expire when an event ends.

Daily and weekly missions use UTC boundaries. New-save objectives are smaller, type requirements come from owned partners, and specialized mechanics are introduced after your save has encountered them. Mission rewards still need to be claimed.

Backups and save files

Open Backups & save file from the menu, or Settings → Local save, to download a JSON file, review an import or restore a local copy. Import shows the replacement’s collection and resources before you confirm.

The browser keeps three recent automatic copies, the most recent pre-import copy and the original pre-shared-upgrade migration copy when applicable. Older Hub v1–v3 saves migrate to v4. Invalid files are rejected before replacement, and an unreadable main save opens a recovery interface instead of silently starting over.

Everything remains local. Clearing this site’s browser data removes the main save and local backups. A downloaded file stored elsewhere is your external copy; closing the page does not preserve an unfinished run. Imports replace a save rather than merge two collections. Original-game cloud accounts use a separate format and service.

Follow the save backup and mobile guide before changing devices.

Controls and mobile play

Move with WASD or arrows, switch active moves with 1–4 or Q/E, and choose upgrade cards with Z/X/C or a click. Card selection and attack selection use different keys. Pause with P or Escape.

Touch menus, activities and backup controls work in portrait. Combat uses landscape; rotating to portrait during a run pauses it and offers an option to end the run and view its summary. Drag to move and tap cards or move slots.

What remains separate

Hub Edition is an independent adaptation, not a JPTER78 or Pokémon release. The original game, music and artist credits remain acknowledged on the Play page.

Your Hub collection stays on this domain and browser unless you transfer a save file. For the original game’s accounts, online co-op and rankings, use its own site and its own rules. Hub does not connect to those accounts. Our Wiki retains the underlying combat references; our Hub guides explain the changed modes and progression you play here.
